Economic Development

Economic development is a fundamental prerequisite for the long-term reduction of poverty and therefore a key component in achieving sustainable development. Hilfswerk International is actively committed to strengthening economic development in its partner countries and to fostering both traditional and modern economic structures. Through our projects, we aim to contribute to the growth of local enterprises and the creation of jobs, thereby improving the living conditions of the population in the long term.

As part of our work, we also support the integration of economic initiatives by Austrian and European companies into target markets in a context-sensitive and locally adapted manner.

In addition, we assist local businesses and entrepreneurs through capacity-building, mentoring, and the promotion of sustainable business models. These initiatives not only contribute to job creation but also strengthen entrepreneurship and self-reliance in the regions concerned. Our economic development programmes thus provide an integrated approach to combating poverty and improving the quality of life of local communities.
