This project team aims to develop the content and mechanisms of higher education, so that the highly skilled specialists better meet the needs of the agro-industrial sector of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. In addition to the development and implementation of the content and the improvement of the study environment, the project contributes to strengthening the cooperation between higher education institutions and agro-industrial enterprises in Central Asia, and enhances the partnership among universities in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and EU countries.
The overall objective is to modernize agro-industry related higher education thus promoting implementation and effective management of sustainable agro-food production systems in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The project contributes to the achievement of the following specific objectives:
In perspective, the project will allow regional producers to apply internationally recognized good agricultural practices (GAP), including the conditions and requirements of the Global G.A.P standard, principles, and approaches of sustainable agribusiness management.
This leads to increased efficiency and competitiveness of the industry, supports business development, and provides local consumers with safe food products and clean environment, thus indirectly contributing to regional and rural development.
